How do you connect every employee to the new vision?

Novar a dutch green energy system developer is undergoing significant growth, expanding from 45 employees in 2019 to over 120 in 2025, while simultaneously entering new European markets and forming larger strategic partnerships with Klaer and Repowered adding value for shared customers in a shared proposition. Although the previously developed vision, by Ink Strategy back in 2019, had provided a strong foundation for this growth, it no longer fully reflected the company’s evolving scale and international ambitions. As Novar grew, joined by partners Klaer and Repowered. They transitioned into a matured organisation, alignment became a challenge: How to ensure every employee got connected to a new, future-facing vision? Addressing this question was critical to maintain cohesion, support continued growth, and enable consistent decision-making across an increasingly complex organisation.

Approach

Making vision development a shared experience.

Ink Strategy collaborated closely with Novar’s leadership to design and facilitate a high-energy, grassroots strategy kickoff involving all 120 employees. Through four interactive future-focused workshops, participants stepped away from daily operations to actively shape Novar’s next chapter. This “strategic carousel” enabled diverse perspectives and collective ownership of the future. All output was translated into a clear report for the management team, kickstarting a dedicated core design team to develop Novar’s new vision. Throughout the process, concepts and narratives were continuously validated with employees, ensuring the emerging strategy was both widely supported and deeply embedded

Result

Shared ownership of the future.

The initiative resulted in a grassroots sense of shared responsibility for Novar’s future. Through active participation, employees across the organisation contributed to and aligned around a clear, compelling future narrative.

First draft developed with core design team

This collective ownership translated into stronger engagement and more consistent decision-making as the company continues to scale internationally. The vision was brought to life through a distinctive and recognisable visual storyline, making it easy to communicate and apply in daily work.
